Santa Cruz is a typical colonial town in central Chile, were many vineyards are located (some of them very famous). Traveling by car from Santiago it takes about 2.5 hours. In the area, there are numerous activities to be done, such as visits to the spectacular historical and paleontological museum, wine tasting, horse-back riding, observatory night tour and others.
The conference venue is the Hotel Santa Cruz Plaza www.hotelsantacruzplaza.cl, a 5 star hotel, built in the Spanish colonial style. There are several lodging alternatives, including country style ones, while others are located at famous vineyards, several of these boutique hotels. Distances to the conference hotel vary and may require having a car.
Remember that, in the Southern Hemisphere, November is spring time; some days may be very beautiful and moderately hot, but an occasional rain shower cannot be excluded.
Food and wine are excellent at the Hotel Santa Cruz Plaza, and they have a very warm style, to make it pleasant for the visitors. There are a few other noteworthy restaurants in town as well.
